Throughout the years, the sound of the trumpet has been symbolic of great entrances and celebrations. That sound is featured in this work, and may be played by the organist or a trumpet soloist. Truly a festive work, this is a joyful and exciting piece which is advanced in difficulty. Perfect for wedding processionals!

This is a great piece of music particularly suited for ceremonial occasions or as a final voluntary on Festive days. (As the title suggests). It is written in three sections, the first setting the scene with a lively tune in the right hand and easy but fast chords in the...

left plus pedals. This is not difficult at all. The middle section is tricky with ascending chromatics, but it can be left out if it is too tricky. The final section is a repeat of the first but in a higher key ending on a real high.

  • July 29, 2012 My New Favorite Trumpet Tune

This is a great, fairly simple piece that I first heard played by my organ teacher once at a recital. David German wrote the piece for his wife for use at their wedding. It works great as a prelude or postlude with or without Bb trumpet solo. It starts out...

fairly easy in the key of F, and then modulates up to F# (which is why I put it as early intermediate instead of easy). The tune is catchy and accessible. I would suggest using Festival Trumpet (or whatever your corresponding stop is called) for the melody, with full Swell coupled to Great for accompaniment, with box closed on parts with solo and box open on parts without. For the fanfares in the middle, I would use a secondary and tertiary solo trumpets (if available) or else Festival Trumpet for the first one and FT with full swell for the second one. Then, use full Swell with Great and slowly crescendo up to the end, ending with full organ.

  • May 08, 2012 What a find!

I had never heard of this piece until a bride-to-be came across it online and asked if I would play it for her wedding as she entered the church. I agreed; it took me only 10 minutes to learn and I have already played it in a recital...

and as an organ voluntary for a Sunday service. It's really refreshing and not at all difficult, yet makes its mark as a very accessible, multi-use piece. It arrived at my home in England in pristine condition - I'm so glad to have found Sheet Music Plus!

Excellent tune and rhythmic accompaniment. Fairly easy to learn if you remember the E sharps. Best on an organ with a large trumpet or tuba with contrasting smaller trumpet. Refreshing to say the least.
