  • October 23, 2007 A wonderful songbook of classics!

I've always loved this movie because of its music, and the songbook is a favorite of mine. It is a good starter for beginners because the songs are good and it's fairly easy to play. The parts are arranged very well and many buyers will love this arrangment...

    of well-known songs.

  • April 22, 2002 Some very good, others so-so

The movie was great & of course the classical pieces are amazing. The best adapted song is obviously "Rhapsody in Blue" & Piano Concerto No. 2, made for the piano. "Rhapsody" is challenging but well worth the practice time. Other songs must be "dumbed" down for a piano solo and it just...

does not give the some effect as an orchestra. Sounds pretty obvious but it mars the entire folio. "The Pines of Appian Way" and "Firebird" are amazing pieces but fall flat when played solely with the piano. Both sufficiently edited. The other pieces I personally did not like very much, but sound quite faithful to the orchestral counterpart. Overall, very good but lacking in some areas.
