Orchestra - Grade 1.5
Composed by Michael Hopkins. SmartMusic; String Orchestra. String Orchestra. Form: Fanfare. Conductor Score & Parts. 128 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.22309).

Item Number: AP.22309

Fanfare and Celebration was composed in 2000 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Michigan ASTA Junior High String Camp, founded by Elizabeth Green in 1970. The piece is set in D major and contains two sections. The first section is a slow fanfare, great for playing with long bows and producing full, rich tones. The second section features eighth and quarter note rhythms, to highlight playing with short, rapid bow strokes. All sections in the orchestra are featured, and the parts are playable entirely in first position. This title is available in SmartMusic.

  • April 26, 2008 GREAT PIECE! Everyone loves it

This is a great middle school piece. We played it at our 6th grade orchestra spring concert and the audience loved it (so did the players!)

  • February 12, 2005 Great Piece for 7th-8th Grade Students!

I played this piece at school and it was the Orchestra's (and the audience's) favorite! I think this would be a great piece for children in Junior High. It's a fun piece! I hope you like it too. :)
