Bass/baritone voice
Vocal Score and CD+G. Published by Music Minus One (MO.MMOCDG4018).

Item Number: MO.MMOCDG4018
ISBN 1596155086.

A wonderful album of baritone arias from the best musical history has to offer, with the great John Wustman as your accompanist.

Includes a printed vocal score; and a CD+G graphics-encoded compact disc with stereo accompaniments to each piece. CD+G lyric display requires a CD+G-capable compact disc player and a television set (audio content is playable on any compact disc player, however).

About CD+G
CD+G (CD+Graphics) is a special disc format in which simple graphics and text are stored in the sub channels of an audio disc. When you play a CD+G disc in a CD+G compatible player (like a karaoke machine), lyrics and images appear on the monitor or TV screen in time to the music. If you play a CD+G disc in a regular CD player, you'll still be able to hear the music and sing along to your favorite tracks, but the graphics features won't function. The CD+G format is a fun and useful learning tool!

I have a couple of similarly themed scores and associated CD's that go with them. The other have two tracks for each song, with and without the singer. That is much easier to learn with. With this one there is no sung version, so you have to find this...

elsewhere and use that to practice with before you can start to put your version to the test against the accompaniment - and of couse with many performances things do change as some will add extra twiddly bits that the accompaniment doesn't allow for. That said, it much, much better than just trying to do it from the score and all of these are not unreasonably priced.

As a baritone It was great to get this particular selection and a bonus to get one piece in two keys, the lower of which suited my voice better. Would also really like a version of the CD with orchestra backing.

  • July 08, 2008 GOOD, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT,

I HAVE ANOTHER CD/MUSIC/ARIA BOOK AND THAT IS GREAT TO USE AND I GUESS I ASSUMED THIS BOOK WOULD BE THE SAME,, HOWEVER, IT ISNT, IF YOU DONT KNOW THE PIECE IT IS HARD TO START AND FIND THE MELODY, SO I WOULD STILL NEED TO FIND SOMEONE...

WHO PLAYS A PIANO TO HELP OUT.
