  • July 03, 2009 Beautiful

I was introduced to Lecuona's music by my father in law--an admirer and collector of Latin (including Haitian) music--initially through Bebo and Chucho Valdes' version of La Comparsa, one of the highlights of the documentary "Calle 54," followed by a series of CDs, birthday and other gifts...

, with his works played by Tirino and others (including Michel Camilo). Lecuona's Danzas are stunning. This piano book is filled with treasures and beautifully put together.

  • November 09, 2007 Ernesto Lecuona a gem!

Since buying Ernesto Lecuona's "Valses de Concierto", I also bought this book. The waltzes are my favorite but this book offers an array of different styles of pieces, most of which require some practicing to master. The introduction at the beginning of this book makes reference to his nickname...

"the Cuban Gershwin" which is a perfect description of his music style. I'm so glad to add this to my piano music library!
