Text: William Tyler Page.
From his cantata, "Sweet Freedom's Song"; nowhere have the ideals which inspired the Revolution been so beautifully or succinctly expressed as by William Tyler Page in his "Epitaph to an Unknown Soldier of the Revolution." It ends with the poignant lines of James Russell Lowell to the unknown British soldier who died on the other side of the "rude bridge that arched the flood" at Concord.
