Where Corals LieArranged for voice and string quartetMovement 4 from Edward Elgar’s Sea Pictures, Op. 37Duration: 4 minutes2016Score and PartsThis string quartet version strives to bring out the full color and texture of the original full-orchestra version. Each instrument part includes a small clued staff above showing the vocal line and lyrics. This makes rehearsal and performances much easier to coordinate without a conductor. Where there is an instrument name noted, this refers to the original instrumental line the player is playing. The term "loco" means that the player returns to playing a string part. For advanced players as the work makes full use of each instrument, uses double stops and extended ranges, etc.I hope this smaller ensemble will allow singers to perform the work more often and bring this beautiful work to a larger audience.More on Elgar’s work at www.KimDiehnelt.com.
