Some of you may not be familiar with a band from England called the "Beatles. This song performed by them, however, was atypical of the rock/pop oriented music they were performing, using a double string quartet arrangement by George Martin and striking lyrics about loneliness, "Eleanor Rigby" was about the neglected concerns and fates of the elderly".

I wanted to address the previous review. I am the publisher and had considered all the issues that was brought up as I considered publishing Mr. Blaskowski's arrangement. I felt they may be an inconsistency in the reviewer that needs to be addressed. First, the esthetics of the score...

is moot, as the musicians are playing off the parts. There is no actual conductor. Also, the arrangement was "OK", according to the reviewer who gave a one star rating (a "not OK" rating). For this Beatle Lover, the work itself has a poor ending, not the arrangers fault. It is in the work itself. I thought I should point this out. Hopefully this should be helpful. I am signing with my name as I think reviews should never hide behind a nickname. Otherwise, the score should have been tighter, but it's not a "one star". It doesn't even affect the sound. However, Thank GOD that we can post a soundfile for everyone to judge the arrangement for themselves. Richard R. Cardo

    A Beatle Lover
    Difficulty Level:
  • 2016-04-27 11:02:53.0 Poor finish

Some of the measures (bars) of music look odd: no tied notes in some bars, so it is often difficult to feel where each beat lies. That together with the large print on the score for trumpet 1 and 2 makes for a unappealing visual appearance. The arrangement is OK...

, but the measure where the horn and trumpet alternate eighth (quavers) sound strange too.
