The two existing manuscripts (1915 and 1926) of these extracts 'arranged' by Falla himself correspond to the very beginning and end of a long period during which El Amor Brujo can be seen in a series of different states. They demonstrate the care which the composer generally brought to the task of instrumentation, and more particularly the aptness and validity of this piece in his own eyes as chamber music. It is clear that Falla's art of orchestration (and notably his feeling for instrumental idiom) gives his score a profound sense of balance. Scored for piano, 2 violins, viola, cello and double bass. Piano player reads from full score, string parts available separately (item 14010867).

Arrangement adhered to the original work. There were no alterations; original structure of piece was there. This was a string/ piano arrangement. Parts were evenly distributed. This was a very good ensemble arrangement. There was no need to shift parts (example: no need to rewrite and transpose a french horn...

part to a violin and vise versa) Please have available more orchestral works arranged for ensemble chamber concerts. This was a great boon for our chamber concerts. This saves us a lot of time and experimentation when there are expert ensemble arrangementsavailable. This enables us through chamber music to reach our goals in presenting Music Appreciation to our community. These concerts are performed by professional musicians from: Hawaii Opera Theatre, Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and Resident Musicians.
