Eja, Eja

Eja, Eja (We Will Sing For Joy). Composed by Mary Lynn Lightfoot. For 2-part choir (3-part Mixed (with Opt. Sign Language)). Octavo. Published by Heritage Music Press (LO.15-1598H).

Captivating syncopations and rhythmic vitality spark this dynamic work about celebrating the power and joys of music ('Eja' is Latin for 'joy'). And if we'll just listen, we'll hear 'music' everywhere inspiring, enriching, and bringing joy to our lives. This exuberant piece in a minor mode is a terrific opener or closer for general, holiday, or Music In Our Schools Month concerts/festivals. Also available: SSA (15/1597H) and Three-part Mixed/SAB (15/1599H).

  • September 01, 2007 Amazing!

I love this song! I had just joined my school's Advanced Choir. My school choir (Made up of 8th and 7th graders.) and I sang this song for a SCVA competition, and we impressed the judges. They said that we sang it very well, there were little mistakes here...

and there but we came home with a 'Superior'. It was kind of difficult to learn this song and make it perfect, but in the end, my friends and I started loving this song and we were always excited to practice this song. It has a nice beat and rhythms. Even though I'm in 8th grade anymore, my friends and I always sing this song. Once you sing this song, it sounds amazing. You'll sing it daily like my friends and I do. It will become your new favorite song.

  • September 30, 2003 Music is joyful and happy!

"Eja, Eja!" is an awesome song for kids to sing. It is an intermediate sing for children and it has a lot of rhythms and beats. It is fun and an exciting song. I am in the eighth grade and sing it in chorus. We all love it and think...

its a great song to sing instead of boring music. Also we have a lot of fun music because our teacher gives us fun music to sing that we understand and a challenging experience.
