This collection of 26 duets for two violins has been arranged from works of the keyboard masters of the Baroque period. The pieces are of varying difficulty, for players of intermediate to advanced ability. Clearly edited and superbly printed, this album includes small gems from the German, Italian, French and English masters of this immensely rich period. As a supplement to any string method, this book enables two players of equal facility to play together -- important in the development of pitch and the ear-training necessary for further chamber playing. More advanced violinists will find this attractively-priced collection useful for concert use, and for use in church services and weddings.

I'll use it for wedding preludes with intermediate players. Most are tunes I don't have in any other format- so pleased, especially for the price!

Short, sweet, one-page duets in 1st and occasionally 3rd position. Optional ornaments are written out in footnotes. Few fingering or bowing marks. An excellent choice for adult beginners who like classical music (I resemble that remark). They can be practiced to mastery, or used for sight reading fun among...

friends. They would be great sight reading practice for beginner/early-intermediate students preparing for NYSSMA or other competitions.
