A beginner cello student might be able to play about 3 pieces in this book. By the end the student would have to be advanced. I was quite disappointed.

The content has variety and although easy to play, beautiful sounding pieces.

A wonderful book of duets for young violinists and cellists to play together. The format of both parts printed on parallel staves allows each player to see what the other is playing. This helps them learn the nature of chamber music and stay together. My only quibble would have been...

to include 1 or 2 more 'recognizeable' melodies.

  • February 08, 2008 Great little duets

A nice little book of duets recommended by my son's cello teacher, who also recommends the second volume. Good cross-section of renaissance/early baroque music, mostly obscure but interesting composers. My son and I use it for "dessert" after we're done practicing all the stuff we 'have...

to.' We're even thinking of working on one for our respective recitals.

  • November 14, 2007 Note that it is all in another language

This book may be good for the music if you don't care about the language it is written in. Because it is all in another language (German?), I couldn't recognize any of the titles, and the cues throughout the music are completely unfamiliar words (I thought music had...

an international language, such as "forte" and such--nope!). It also appeared to be fairly difficult music for a youngster to play.
