    Many recordings of this double concerto (TWV55:e2) attest to the work's modern popularity. As recorder players know, Telemann was the high baroque master composer for the instrument. But his writing for the transverse flute was notable as well, and here the two were brought together in a singular...

    demonstration of their different tone colors. The phrasing in this Kalmus reprint is reasonably close to what the composer probably indicated, not altered for twentieth-century tastes. The keyboard realization can (and will be) ignored by harpsichordists. A large, clean, inexpensive score that many listeners and performers will enjoy owning.
