About Original Sheet Music Edition

Each ORIGINAL SHEET MUSIC EDITION has been arranged for piano by Alfred's talented staff of arrangers. Every effort has been made for the arrangement to be playable on the piano and to sound as close to the original recording as possible. If there are lyrics, a separate vocal line is used so that singers can easily sing along, and all lyrics as heard on the original recording are always included. Almost all arrangements are written in the original key in which they were recorded.

  • July 16, 2011 A good challenge for pianists

I purchased this for one of my more advanced piano students. I think it sounds great--it really sounds like the original recording. However, the music primarily provides the accompaniment, and the pianist would need to sing if they want to hear the melody--could be challenging for some. But...

I still recommend it--brings back good memories of the Eighties!

  • September 14, 2009 Pretty enjoyable for a "light" piece

I am a Classical piano teacher but a student of mine has recently requested to learn this piece. Student's will need to understand triplets and sixteenths, there are not many, but if students do not know how to count these it will throw the rhythm of the piece off...

; at the first glance of the music one might think the most complex note is an eighth. Secondly, the repetitive back-and-forth motion in the right hand will need a strong and flexible wrist. Please make sure, if you are a student, that your teacher shows you the way to keep your wrist loose before starting this piece if it is something you are learning independently! Otherwise it's an enjoyable piece with a catchy arrangement. I think it's great "desert" piece for students or for anyone who is looking for a break from more taxing literature. For teachers it's a great piece to use to teach the strong wrist rotations, I don't think students will mind working on technique if it means they get to learn such a fun song!
