  • February 16, 2013 Excellent!

I did this play back in sixth grade, and I am still in love with it! I wouldn't mind doing it this year or next year... I have found, however, that there are good and bad ways to portray the play. It all depends on how the teacher wants...

    the play to be given.

  • April 10, 2012 AMAZING!

We did this play in sixth grade. It was one of the best things I've ever done! The play was really good and LOOOVE the songs and the dance numbers. The whole experience with my classmates and my teachers was incredible. The performance was great too. We worked really...

hard for two months and it finally paid off when our whole audience was laughing and cheering and clapping. GREAT PLAY AND A SURE FIRE MEMORY MAKER!!!

  • November 04, 2011 Great Production

My class was studying ancient civilizations and this play complemented that curriculum well. The kids came out of their shells, they sang and they continue to talk about it one year later! It was fantastic!

  • June 06, 2011 personally, it's not very good

I am a third grade music teacher in Virginia, and I just have to say that I personally don't like this musical. I had to teach my students this, because my boss asked me too, but if it was up to me, I don't think I would have...

chosen this musical to show my students. I think it's unfair, (since they're still young anyway) that not everyone got a part, and a lot of students who wanted a part, but didn't get one were disappointed. Some parents told me after the play, that they thought the songs were annoying, and the jokes were cheezy, and they thought the students deserved to do something better than dig it as the last end-of-the-year play. One said "the students were great, it was just the play that the students were in, that made this not worth watching."
