  • July 09, 2009 play(sing)-along CD just what i'd hoped for

    Peters' Editions (even of phone books, I'm sure) are always to be commended and recommended. I had hoped to find included a CD that had serviceable accompaniments of the sixteen songs of this cycle. What I did find was a recording of wonderful quality performed beautifully by Karl Kammerlander...

    . I don't know much about this pianist, but it does seem obvious that he has spent countless hours partnering with vocalists. His playing sings. Those songs that find the performers beginning simultaneously, or almost so, are handled adeptly with in tempo intros or a measure of hand raps. No disappointments here. Just what I'd hoped for. Thank you.
