Based on 50 years of teaching and performing on the accordion, Mr. Zucco has provided us with a complete and thorough accordion method for children. In this single volume, three levels of clear, easy-to-understand instruction teach music reading and playing from the very beginning, supplemented by original solos and arrangements. Students learn to play by feel and touch rather than depending on sight. Helpful illustrations and photographs are also provided. This method mentions the 120-bass accordion, but focuses on the 12-bass instrument. One of the finest accordion methods available. DVD included.

Excellent book & CD set for someone who starts at beginner level. Instructions are clear and easy to understand. It also has few songs to practice before going on to next lesson. This book teaches unique fingering method, which seems hard at first, but once learned, makes finding right notes easy...

and without having to look. There is also review of different accordions and advice as what to look for, which I find very useful. I do fully recommend this set.

It is unfortunate the nice photographs of the proper hand, arm and keyboard placement on the body are not correct. The book is quite wordy in theory and written on an adult level. I also found some of the illustrations confusing as when the bass chord is marked above the...

treble staff rather than the bass clef. Prior to the level three there is a two page illustration of a 120 bass accordion with only the M chord row on the 12 bass highlighted. I would have loved to seen this full size picture placed earlier in the book or showing the full keyboard. The 7th and minor chords are not introduced until level three. I don't think the level three pieces presented in this course are as difficult as the level three from the Palmer-Hughes course. It is doubtful whether completion of this course would prepare one for playing equivilent grade accordion music in general. I did enjoy playing through some of the pieces. I am an adult semi-profesional musician and advanced beginner accordionist.
