The Glover Method has been around a long time. I learned to play from Glover and graduated with a BA & MA in music with piano as my instrument. I'm now teaching students and using Glover as part of the curriculum.

  • May 10, 2007 Comes Short of the Goal

As Pre-reading books go, this one comes a bit short of where it needs to get to. It provides a foundation in reading rhythmically by finger number. Where most pre-readers take the next step and help the student read by letter name, this book stops short and only...

offers reading by fingering. The Primer level picks up in teaching key names and note reading on the staff. The Method for Piano course is an outstanding method otherwise. The teacher may want to select a different pre-reader and then move to this course. Music Magic, by Noona, would make a good first pre-reader in this regard.
