The title refers to a "Dust Devil," or a type of tornado of dirt found in the southwestern United States, but listeners could also imagine the kind of devil that is red, has a tail, horns, and a pitchfork! The piece is roughly 2:30 minutes. This does include alto and bass flute parts and an extra flute part that doubles the alto part.
