  • June 03, 2012 Da pacem Domine by Arvo Part

At the time of writing we haven't had time to learn or perform this piece. However, I've heard a recording and it is an effective and beautiful composition with slowly evolving harmonies. The music (a cappella SATB) reveals itself as eminently singable by any reasonably competent choral group...

, large or small. Obviously it will repay skilfull performance, but is more traditional, in vocal ranges and rhythms, than some of Part's works and is therefore easier. A good introduction to the works of this contemporary composer. Well worth investigation
