From the Selva morale e spirituale, this "moral and spiritual forest" which represents the essential of the church music composed by Monteverdi at the end of his life, this motet is specific by its writing, that many choirs will appreciate.
A 4 mixed voices homophonic writing, contrasting with the virtuoso soloist, and under all the continuo. Also alternation of binary and ternary parts, marking the ritornello aspects of the choir parts.
