  • January 07, 2012 Concierto de Aranjuez, Guitar with piano reduction

I was highly satisfied with the service and promptness of the delivery. I am a (fairly decent amateur) trumpet player, preparing to perform the Adagio as a solo piece with guitar, piano, bass, and drum accompaniment. I'm using Miles Davis's version (orchestrated by Gil Evans) and the version...

in "Brassed Off" (see the YouTube video of this) as the templates for my solo. I bought 5 or 6 copies to distribute to my accompanists, and also to confirm my impression of the notes for the trumpet (appropriately transposed of course). The sheet music was indispensable for that purpose. I did end up writing out my solo by hand on music paper, however. I'm playing on Jan 21 at the Meyer Theater in Green Bay, WI in a big "Doctors in Recital" performance.

  • November 08, 2007 fascinating, horribly difficult

The piano part is quite easy, but the guitar part is of course very hard, if played "a tempo". The Aranjuez concert is levely and it's worth trying to play it, even for an amateur. The edition is nice.
