    Mozart's 3rd Violin concerto is, in my humble opinion, one of the best in the reportoire. Many would consider the piece to be "student" material, yet I loved playing it all the same. It provides a stepping stone to the fourth and fifth concertos, or possibly to something like...

    the Mendelssohn violin concerto. The Sam Franco cadenza for the first movement is wonderful, and definately helps for learning how to put emotion into one's playing.

    This is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written and is a very nice piece to play and listen to. Technically, it is roughly intermediate going on advanced; but to play it convincingly you need a good deal of musicallity and above anything else poise and elegance. The...
