    This piece is pefectly written the reason for all of the breath marks was because Strauss wrote this for his father who was a world renowned horn player. His father unfortunately had some breathing condition that required him to take breaths more often and, hence, all of the breath marks

    This is a very good horn concerto written by Strauss. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of all the breath marks. I'm really not sure why there are so many; paying attention to all the breath marks would make a person hyperventilate or...

    Though from a musical perspective it is not as complex or difficult as the second, this piece is timeless and truly embodies the art of playing the french horn. Though not terribly challenging for an advanced player, it is very easy to hear and has a brilliant adagio movement. If...

    The opening measures make for a brilliant first impression on the judges. This piece got me into Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts- for which I am extremely grateful. The piece isn't challenging technically, but it is still a very beautiful composition. This ranks up there with Saint...

    -Saens Op. 94 in my opinion as some of the best solo pieces.
