  • June 30, 2008 Such an awesome piece...

The piece is incredible once completed. I must say though, the first two movements need EXTRA maturity and musicianship or it just doesn't have that extra umph. Play confidently and play with much enthusiasm to please the crowd.

  • February 08, 2008 Beautiful Concerto with Good Variety

When I first started this concerto, I was overwhelmed. I practiced the first movement many times and really didn't care for it that much. However, when my teacher helped me make it more "musical" I began to enjoy it. I think that the 3 movements offer lovely contrast. The...

first is kind of dark(yet very showy)with a surprisingly melodic section in the middle, the second is simply gorgeous while still somewhat difficult, and the third is brilliant and joyful(long fingers come in really handy on the 10th's!). The concerto does sound much better with orchestra than piano, though.

im 15 and recently was asked to play this concerto with my orchestra. it is an excellent concerto which is not too hard if practiced enough. the first movement has some nice passages, the second lovely melodies, the third movement is not as technically demanding as say brahms or even...

  • January 18, 2005 A Classic

Bruch's G minor concerto has been both a joy and a challenge to learn. The fist movement is quite playable, though to me, it did not appear that way at first. However, it contains only minor hurdles if one is technically competent. The second movement is by far, harder...

than it sounds, though very gratifying to complete. The third movement is a mission on which I have yet to embark. It appears that the tenths will supply the greatest technical difficulty.
