Violin,Viola,Cello,String Quartet,String Orchestra - Intermediate - Digital Download

SKU: S0.60125

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Christopher A. Sforza. Baroque Period. Score,Set of Parts. 34 pages. Published by Christopher A. Sforza old (S0.60125).

This new work is constructed from the first movement of J.S. Bach's "Concerto for two harpsichords in c minor, BWV 1062" for solo string quartet and string orchestra. Bach himself transcribed his own concerto from the more well known "Concerto for two violins in d minor, BWV 1043". It was my goal to create a new work that treated the members of the solo string quartet as equally as the two violins are treated in BWV 1043 but not be a direct duplicate. The harpsichord lines are closely preserved in this transcription and transfer strongly to the members of the string quartet giving many solo opportunities to the viola and cello.
