This concerto is wonderfully written. You can definitely tell a piece written by Ibert because of his amazing style. The first movement is amazing and technically challenging. The second movement is absolutely beautiful, especially when put together with the orchestra. The third movement is known as a test piece for...

the Paris Conservatory. It's very fast and technical, but it's awesome. The piano part, however is horrific, so be sure to get a great pianist to play for you. True accompanists do NOT like to play this piece! It's a great concerto to learn and keep in your repertoire, and it's a great piece to play on the side for an audition for college or symphony. I learned it last year when I was fifteen, and I plan to keep it with me for the rest of my life. Although it's very expensive, it's very worth purchasing and learning it.
