Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.803461

Composed by Geneva Psalter, 1551. Arranged by Phyllis Hopper. Christmas,Easter,Renaissance,Sacred. Octavo. 10 pages. HopSez Productions #2965873. Published by HopSez Productions (A0.803461).

Comfort, Comfort Now My People is a hymn based on Isaiah 40 (think of the air in Handel's "Messiah"). It can be sung by a choir (separate mens' and womens' parts) and/or sung by a congregation. Here you have an arrangement with a definite Renaissance feel. I can hear finger cymbals ringing a counter rhythm throughout (sorry, I didn't write it in, but I'm sure you can figure it out). The parts are open and airy and the song has a light, joyous feel to it. While the instruments are published as violin, cello and drone (piano, etc) this should be playable by any pairings of treble and bass instruments that play in C. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed putting together the arrangement! PH Jan2017.
