This popular Lillenas piano book is a blending of standard hymns with recognizable classical literature. The combining of legendary composers like Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and others with hymn favorites such as “Holy, Holy, Holy!” “Abide with Me” and “Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us” provides many creative options for worship and concert settings. Arranged by gifted writer and performer, Gail Smith, this book is replete with exquisite possibilities for the skilled pianist.

Contents: Abide with Me (with Beethoven's “Adagio”) • Blessed Assurance (with Chopin's “Fantasie-Impromptu”) • Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty (with Bach's “Invention No. 14 in B Flat”) • I Love Thee (with Bach's “Brandenberg Concerto No. 3”) • Jesus, Lover of My Soul (with Faure's “Pavane, Op. 50”) • O Lord Most Holy • O Worship the King (with Chopin's “Etude, Op. 10 No. 12”) • Rock of Ages (with Bach's “Goldberg Variation No. 19”) • Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us (with Vivaldi's “La Primavera”) • There Is a Green Hill Far Away (with Chopin's “Ballade, Op. 18”) • Trust and Obey (with Schumann's “Traumerei”) • What a Friend We Have in Jesus (with Beethoven's “Für Elise”).

I love this little book. So, far the only thing I have really tried is What a Friend We Have in Jesus, and it is unique and fun to play. As far as difficulty, I think it would depend on how familiar you are with classical music and how confident...

you are in your own abilities. But, I highly recommend getting this book. You will not be disappointed.
