    West Peabody, MA
    Difficulty Level:
  • July 08, 2008 Every guitarist should work at these

While written long ago, there are references here to all current and pop music. Not only does one find fabulous chords and alternate voicings, but expanded use of both hands. Merle Travis style finger-picking? See the Musette in D Major... an old technique (Wonderful song too). Want to increase...

your range up the neck of the guitar? Try the Bouree BWV 1002. While there are several fingerings and tabs that could be different (ala Segovia) and there may be a few errors (ex. p60, measure 12 asks for barre on 2nd fret and also to play an open string), the reasons for working through these wonderful pieces exceed any glitch. It is beautiful music, presented extremely well, and with so many in one book: A Gem! And then there is the thrill of "arriving" with a song... Ahhhh, such bliss. Everyone: get this book and try some at whatever level - you'll come out the richer player in any style.

    Difficulty Level:
  • June 30, 2008 Bach for the guitar

This is a valuable collection of popular Bach pieces for the guitar. The music includes tabs, which provide excellent fingering quidelines, even for experienced musicians. The music have been transcribed from various original instruments, flute, lute, violin, cello and keyboard, but retains the original Bach interpretation. I would highly recommend...

this volume to all classical guitarists who want to savour the flavour of Bach music.

    Difficulty Level:
  • April 30, 2008 Excellent music and service

This whole series is excellent for the intermediate guitarist wanting to get into classical music. The inclusion of tablature was the key factor for me.

    Oakland, CA
    Difficulty Level:
  • October 02, 2007 Fantastic

The pieces in this collection range from intermediate to advanced. The transcriptions, for the most part, seem to be rather accurate. The tab is a very nice addition for lazy bastards who need to brush up on their sight reading (i.e. me). I was pleased to find some of...

my favorites in here...Prelude in C Minor, Bourree (BWV 996)..as well as popular classics - Minuet in G, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Air on The G String, etc. This is a very clean, accessible presentation of some of Bach's best. I'm so glad I bought it.
