This book is for the birds. The arrangements are awkward and questionable. I understand that transferring music from guitar to piano/keyboard is more art than science, but there were attempts here that were laughable ("More Than A Feeling" and "Dream On," especially). That being said, amazingly, surprisingly and stupendously...

, there is the best arrangement of "Layla" for keyboard in this book that I have ever seen (Dan Coates' being rather pathetic). That's the only good thing about this book, unless you make a living doing parodies of classic rock on piano.

    Difficulty Level:
  • September 10, 2001 doesn't cover entire songs

I'm going to be honest, this book is fairly lame. While there are some songs that are written perfectly, like "More Than a Feeling" and "Sweet Home Alabama" (even though the last minute or so isn't written), others like "Layla" leave out much. The whole ending of "Layla...

" is transcribed in the book in about a dozen or so measures. It does sound kick a**, but it should be much longer. In almost half the songs the song structure is incorrect. If I actually liked meatloaf I would be pleased by the fact that all of "Paradise...." is written out. "Dream On" leaves out a few important fills. But all in all buying this book is a much better deal than buying a whole bunch of separate sheet music. You have to expect to be dissapointed though.
