High energy from start to finish with a quiet mysterious central passage and a massive dynamic ending. The alto clarinets have the melody but there is also a duet between the first Eb clarinet and first Bass clarinet. This was originally written for the saxophone ensemble of the Paris Conservatory and is dedicated to their teacher Claude Delangle. The conductor Kanako Abe conducted the premiere and has conducted it on both sides of the Atlantic.
