I agree with other reviews, there aren't that many "OLD" favorites, however, it has some beautiful musical writings & the songs are of a good variety!!!! I mostly play for my church, this book of music will work!!!!

  • December 31, 2011 It was a livesaver!

Aside from the unevenness of difficulty, this book was a lifesaver this Christmas. I sightread most of these numbers, and therefore had a new repertoire of arrangements. Some are too easy and sound it, but overall, the arrangements are new and refreshing. They worked well for piano (not organ) preludes...

    , offertories,and postludes.

This is not a collection for someone who is looking for traditional arrangements of these songs. I was disappointed to find that many of them are harmonized in a kind of nightclub piano style that I do not find appropriate for this music.

My friend had this book when we visited for Christmas. Started playing some of them and fell in love with the arrangements and harmonies. Many sound New-Age and are nice to relax to. Love the different arrangements of the standard well-known carols.

I did not find most of the pieces very interesting. additionally, -although it might be more expensive to publish - having music in a spiral-bound format would have made it easier to play.
