It's lovely having so many of Chopin's works in one place, although, as others have noted, it doesn't cover quite everything. My major objection is a physical rather than an artistic one -- my music stand is not wide enough to hold the book easily. But I muddle...

through, and I'm glad to have it.

This book is a great buy, if you just want his pieces and no additional notes. However, it still lacks of some of Chopin's famous pieces.

Contains all of the Chopin favorites for the advanced student. Great Product! Can have the book spiral bounded at Staples or other so it will lay flat at the piano music stand.

  • 2015-07-20 12:26:41.0 Scherzo, Fantasie Impromptu and Berceuse MISSING!!

Generally, this is an excellent publication, nicely laid out with the spiral binding, making it very easy to manage on the music stand. HOWEVER, if you're going to call something "The ULTIMATE", you should produce just that! Granted, the cover does say what IS in there (Ballades, Etudes etc...

) and of course, I wouldn't expect the Piano Concerto, BUT, there are no less than three very important (and popular) pieces missing from this volume, namely: The Scherzo (Op.31), the Fantasie Impromptu Op.66 (amazing as this is one of Chopin's MOST famous compositions), and the charming Berceuse Op.57. I am very surprised at their omission as none of them are very long pieces. You now have to buy the "Chopin - Album for the Piano" (Vol 39) if you want these missing pieces. This is why I only gave a 4 star rating in what would otherwise be a 5.
