Burung Kakak Tua (The Cockatoo) originally is a Malay folk tune which is simple, tuneful and lyrical. With an ostinato accompaniment figure, Burung Kakak Tua theme is presented in an off-beat rhythm that created a rather melancholy but expressive emotion. Originally this piece is the second movement from "Three Short Malay Pieces" for Piano.Youtube video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4laICNVLh4JunYi ChowBorn and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, started learning the piano and music theory at the early age of 5, Chow gained his admittance into Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing, China) in year 2005 and received tutelage from WenChen Qin, Gang Chen and JianPing Tang. After graduation in 2011, currently Chow is taking master degree in Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University in United States under P.Q. Phan.
