They have been carefully transcribed and edited to stimulate interest in technical development and in general musicianship. By studying the text carefully, and with the teacher's help, the young student can develop a foundation for a fine left- hand technic, and bow arm.

This is a wonderful book of solos to get beginning violin students to the early intermediate level. The sequence of skills is worked out very well, in terms of finger patterns, notes, rhythms and bowings. Viola, cello and bass books are not as highly recommended. They are written to be...

played in unison with the violins, and have awkward octave leaps in order to avoid finger pattenrs the students have not learned yet.
