  • September 16, 2008 A good simple book

To fully transcribe everything that went on in those live studio sessions which created the albumn would be ridiculous. Instead the player needs to learn a bit about cuban music and how to approach it before learning these songs. The songs are T+A as they should be, chord names...

and simple piano rhythmic accompaniment with lyrics and melodic line. Have fun!

There's no other book quite like this, with it's selection of Cuban songs and music. Many of these are great classic songs from the golden age of Cuban music, combining rich lyrics, chord structures, melodies, and (of course) catchy rhythm.

The Buena Vista Social Club, made up of retired musicians, is a truly admirable band. this book, which includes all of the songs from their album, is without a fault. the music mirrors the music played on the album, the editing is precise, and the arrangements are beautiful. definately try...

"Peublos Neuvos", a fantastic piano solo that is exhilirating to play and is a very majestic piece. the other pieces are great as well [especially Dos Gardenias, Murmollo, and La Bayamesa]. experience the fire of Cuba wherever you make your home.
