This is an excellent book for intermediate to professional musicians. I am personally an early intermediate musician. I love Bossa Nova, but it's hard to find music that is simplified enough. Most of these tunes are within reach for myself. Also, a professioanl friend of mine was impressed by...

the fact that each score is re-written for several instruments making it easy for band performance. The CD is beautiful and very heplful for learning the tunes.

Great backing and great tunes on this one, with a truly beautiful version of The Shadow of Your Smile played in the low octave on tenor sax. There are also one or two surpises, in that a couple of the tunes would not normally be associated with Bossa Nova, but...

they work really well in this genre. If you dig da Bossa, you will love diss !

  • November 01, 2007 Great players & arrangements!

This is a very high quality book/CD! In fact, the quality of the performing combo is such that I use this and several other books in this series as performance tracks for art shows, dinners, etc. Highly recommended as both a training and performance resource...equal to if not...

    better than Aebersold materials.
