Concert Band - Grade 2
Arranged by Michael Sweeney. Discovery Plus Concert Band. Score and parts. Published by Hal Leonard (HL.8725008).

Item Number: HL.8725008

First made popular by the Andrews Sisters back in the '40s, later by Bette Midler in the '70s, and now your very own trumpet section can be the stars of this hoppin' tune from the swing era! Even though this arrangement has been scored for young players, the authentic swing style still comes through in an entertaining version sure to please. Make sure your buglers have their autograph pens handy.

This arrangement grows on the musicians and on the audience. We even had requests to play it with our Christmas program. It reads well with the 30 member Letter Carrier's band and is a full enough arrangement to sound good with my 12 piece "German' band. Only a few...

minor 'tweaks' needed to get essential parts covered. A real winner!

Not quite a community band, The Cleveland Letter Carriers Band founded in 1890. Good arrangement. A little thin on the scoring too many playing the same notes. However it is a crowd pleaser and that is important. Music does not have to be difficlulto sound good!
