My Flute Choir recently performed this, and we were applauded for the performance. But during rehearsals, we found only a few problems that flautists may approach differently. A lesson every instrumentalist must keep in mind: KEY CHANGE! This piece bounces from Eb to Ab and back to Eb (3 to...

4 to 3 flats). In addition, players must not allow the temple to slow down in the "B" section (Ab, 4 flats). We found we slowed down as we originally had a hard time pushing out all the eighth-note Eb's in Flute 4. Although we were pressed for time and had an Alto Flute help cover the part for more depth, this is one of the best arrangements of classical music for the Flute Choir ensemble. A definite grab for any choir.
