    Really liked this book alot worked through a book similar to this, but blues you can use shines in the fact that it give so many examples as well as so many practical drills that are essential for someone starting out.

    Interesting teaching format. It starts with basic chords, scales and then songs to play (with CD) in each lesson. It keeps the learning process interesting. It moves through the basics, covers a variety of styles, and teaches the player how to work the entire fretboard, improv and chord progessions. As...

    a 30+ year player, I would highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to master the instrument. The "blues" is a great place to start, it teaches you what you need for rock and roll or jazz.
