An outstanding introduction to a wide range of blues styles. Sultan manages to keep the songs funky while stripping them down to their bare essentials, ensuring they are accessible to players of all levels. I've refered scores of others to this book, and this a consenus Best in Class...

offering. With all due respect, I disagree with the reviews characterizing this book as intermediate/advanced. It's accessible to anyone who has 1-2 years of playing under their belt. Sultan's "Blues Guitar" book is for rank beginners. This one is the next step up.

Perfect companion to books one and two. The book starts out pretty hard with a couple of the Lightning Hopkins licks but with a little time they come. It slows down a little with Mississippi John Hurt songs and then gets pretty difficult near the end of the book. But...

for an intermediate blues player the book is challenging enough to last for awhile.
