In the same lineage of Hal Hopson's popular settings of J.S. Bach's "Air on the G Stream" (1997's "Lord, Have Mercy") and the subsequent "Arioso" ("Bless the Lord, My Soul"), here is one of the most beautiful melodies Beethoven wrote - "Adagio from Sonata Pathetique" (Opus 13) - adapted in an earnest choral style with tastefulness and passion. The use of organ in the accompaniment is an inspired twist, adding a freshness to the familiar tune, hitherto known as a piano work.
