This set has the same virtues and flaws as his Unsung Hero collection. While I noticed a few low A's and G's, I didn't think the arrangements were particularly "Bass" trombone solos. Those notes could easily be done an octive up if desired.

I enjoyed playing this book. It makes me feel right in the big band, w/ trumpet solos, the piano solo and everything. As a tenor trombone player, It makes me happy and very excited to play a song with back up. Ihope the publisher makes more of these ballad books...

    for big band.

This play along offers a chance to work on phrasing. The arrangments are familiar to anyone with a big band history. Great Fun!
