I loved Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook albums, and was interested in owning sheet music for some of my favorite timeless standards You Go To My Head, The Very Thought of You, Moonglow and I'll Be Seeing You. As other reviewers have mentioned, these are *NOT* the versions...

recorded by Rod; they are in different keys and include all original lyrics and introductions. However, it didn't bother me, since I was simply looking for high quality, easy-to-learn transcriptions, and this delivers. I would label this as early intermediate, and most songs have a short learning curve. The arrangements are slow and jazzy, with the perfect touch of embellishments to create a romantic atmosphere. Even though some of my favorites from Volume 1 were left off, there's still fifteen songs to learn, including a sassy version of Gershwin's They Can't Take That Away From Me.

Not the same arrangements. Not the same key. Besides the songs, those were the two most important reasons to buy.

If you expect a book with songs arranged according to Rod Stewart's records, you'll be disappointed!!! The arrangements are different and written in different keys as compared to Stewart's records. However, I think it's still a good book.
