    This is by far the most lovely of the four ballades. If you have mastered Liszt's third Liebestraume, this piece is the next level of difficulty. If you plan on mastering the four ballades, be sure to learn this one first, as it will better prepare you for this...

    side of Chopin and this form of piece. Contrary to the first and fourth ballades, this one has a lighter, lovelier atmosphere. It is a great performance and concert piece if you play it as Chopin intended.

    This is a rather long piece being about 8 minutes but is great for concerts and competitions. Lots of trills and ornaments with almost a sort of jazzy, V7 chord scenario. It switches to the relative minor a few times and than has an actual key change into E and...

    back to A flat. Definitely Chopin-esque.
