Ascentium

Ascentium composed by Ed Huckeby. Concert band. Spotlight Series. Audio recording available separately (item CL.WFR332). Overture. Grade 3. Score and set of parts. Composed 2004. Duration 5 minutes, 38 seconds. Published by C.L. Barnhouse (CL.012-3354-00).

From the opening pyramid chords to the rousing and energetic conclusion, Ascentium will bring out the best in your ensemble. The crisp, syncopated rhythms and exciting, but playable, melodic lines provide the basis for a new piece which is characteristically Huckeby through and through! Great for concert and/or contest performance.

  • September 10, 2007 Ah...Awesome.

We're playing this song at our next band concert for our Junior high!! I love this song. It's a really fun song to play, and Ed Huckeby is a very talented music writer. I'm familiar with his work because we're also playing Stone Creek Episode :)

THis song is amazing. i played this with a band of 6th and 7th graders and it got us a standing obation. the song is very tough, exciting, but amzingly graceful and pretty in the slow section. this is honestly the most musical song a group of 6th and 7th...

grader who have played between2-3 years.

  • April 04, 2007 Student ;conductor.

I am 17 years old and i am conducting my high school band with this song. It is a very good song to learn and with a smaller band you can hear the parts more distinctly throughout the song. Its an awesome pice!!

THIS SONG ROCKS!!! I PLAYED IT AND I LOVE IT!!!! Great for smaller bands. Melody is carried through most instruments, starting with the low end (baritones, etc.) Highly Recommend!!
