Lovely piece for a church service - but it goes up to G# for just one small note. Fine for good sopranos a fraction high for some choirs however most organs would allow you to transpose down a second or third or drop the G# to a D# for that one...

note. This would make it OK for even the average volunteer choir.

  • June 29, 2007 A Choice Theme and Melody

I was mesmerized by this piece as recorded by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and was thrilled to find that the arrangement was available at SheetMusicPlus.com. It has a truly wonderful theme describing Christ's relationship to an individual. Penned by John Tauler in the 1300's, it has been...

set to a lovely haunting melody, with additional words, by John Rutter. For the accompanist, it might present a challenge as it moves through common key signatures E flat, C, and D, and then ends in F sharp - a key signature not commonly used. No matter. It's worth the practice time and effort.

This piece has such a beautiful melody and is filled with lovely simile that it is a joy to both singers and listeners. It is not difficult but is challenging enough to be interesting as well as beautiful
