  • January 22, 2014 Pedaling De-Mystified!

I found out about this book while searching for pedaling techniques when playing Debussy. A pianist had written a blog on pedaling and highly recommended this book. So I rushed out to find the book and am I glad I did! I have been playing classical piano since 3 and...

graduated from the SFCM. But pedaling has always been one of those "mysteries" that most pianist either learn right or wrong. Most learn wrong. While my pedaling has been pretty decent over the years this book opened my eyes to other ways to use the pedal. There were so many "ah-ha moments" in this book I can't even begin to count. This book is written for the pianist who has been playing for some time and a beginner may end up being very confused in reading. For those advanced pianist looking to add more detail, coloring and shading to your pieces order this book immediately.

't have a teacher to teach you how to use the pedals, this is a must-have book. Thank you Katherine.
