L'arrangement est très bien, mais certain passage sont vides, les passages de batterie par exemple; le piano ne peut pas les faires. Commande reçu dans les bons délais, merci :)

I've performed this piece several times now, and I can tell you that the most critical thing you can do is listen to Artie Shaw performances of it. In an older print edition, there is a notice at the top advising the performer that these notes are only a...

guide, and the authentic concerto should be listened to in order to understand the piece. Technically the piece is not that difficult, but you should have a good understanding of the style. Great piece, though, and impressive as hell when done right. And by right - we don't mean with immaculate tone and articulation. Ignore all written articulations, stick to the style. Artie Shaw certainly did.

  • March 10, 2008 FUN, JAZZY CLARINET SOLO!

I bought this sheet music because a university student of mine wanted to learn to play this solo. I have gotten so excited to learn it, I may just have to find some venue to perform it in the near future! We have yet to play this with piano, but...

the clarinet part is great in itself. John Bruce Yeh has a great recording of the Shaw Concerto if you prefer someone with a more pure, traditional sound than that jazzy quality of Artie Shaw himself. The editor did a great job of putting in the jazz elements that you hear in recordings of Artie Shaw and make it easier to understand how the piece should be performed. I'm lovin' it!

It was wonderful, and is always great to play. However, there are 1 or 2 wrong notes printed in the song, but overall, DEFINITELY worth getting if you like a challenege and want something fun to play.
